Okay so I've always been too shy/insecure/whatever to do friending memes in the past, but I totally did the most recent one on ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-community.gif)
jim_and_bones, and wow I have so many shiny new friends from it! Hooray I'm not repugnant! Or am I?
Anyway, I will do an introductory post of posting...ness so that you guys can know a little bit more about me.
Anyways, my name is Dominique, although most people call me Dommi. I'm originally from the Washington, DC area but I now live in North Carolina. I have a dog and three cats, although one cat is mostly a lodger while my hetero-lifemate exists in the Navy for the next year or so. Hachi is the dog, short for the Japanese word for "honey" because that's what color he is, Spike and Faye are my cats (yes as in the Cowboy Bebop characters), and Dinozzo aka Dizzy is lodger cat.
Some of you may know of me because I wrote this thing called The Waterpark 'Verse, a Kirk/McCoy centric universe that I'm kind of stupidly proud of, even though mostly silly things happen in it. I also have a Gossip Girl AU, which I AM WORKING ON I SWEAR. Finals just started, though, so everything's kind of on a backburner until those are over.
Oh right. I'm a full-time college student, about to end my first year of school. I'm a Psychology major, and am also minoring in Sociology and African-American studies. I plan on going all the way and getting my PhD, but I keep switching back and forth on if I want to do Clinical or Social Psychology. Regardless, I have one year down and like...nine more to go. No pressure!
I actually wrote a paper on Reboot Jim Kirk for my Abnormal Psychology class, and I got a 100 on it! I haven't posted it yet because I was nervous about it. My professor both specialized in personality disorders and is a Trekkie from childhood, you see, so I didn't want to say anything about it until I got my grade back. I've been planning on posting it, but I want to convert it to a PDF file so people can read it first. Is there an interest in seeing it? I'll post the PDF if so.
In terms of things, I'm pretty laid back and easy-going. I like practically all kinds of music except stereotypical country. I like eating food, and do so at any given opportunity. I take my dog to the dog park once a week and let him zoom around there. I drive a BMW convertible, not because I'm wealthy, but because I just love those cars more than anything. I like Swedish Fish a whole lot. I actually kind of want to go get some right now but it's after midnight so no dice. I can't function without coffee. I'm a diehard Mac user, but I'm not annoying about it. I really like beer. My favorite food is mac and cheese.
I like lots of different movies and stuff too. My favorite TV shows are Archer and Glee, if that tells you anything about my sense of humor.
I got into Trek because of the reboot, but my mom is a Trekkie so I grew up with it in the house. I just...rebelled by liking Star Wars or something.
I hate being cold. I love sleeping. If I could afford a maid service, I would totally have one. I'm currently unemployed, though not for lack of trying. I swear a lot. I have two wonderful parents who live in Florida that I don't get to see as often as I'd like. Italian food is awesome, and I wish I had some right now. I'm a big supporter of animal rights, and was even vegan for a year because of it. Gin and tonics are my favorite cocktail, although I really love Irish car bombs too. And milkshakes, I love vanilla milkshakes.

Maybe I'll post pictures of me and my pets sometime soon so you can all put a face to the handle! Maybe. Perhaps.
